The Peak District is full of wonderful places to explore. From beautiful walks and historic houses to hidden valleys, charming villages and traditional country pubs, there is far more to see than you could fit into one visit.

There are beautiful walks directly from Top Riley, whether you want a gentle wander through the village or a longer day exploring the edges, valleys and historic landscapes of the Peak District. You could arrive at Top Riley and not have any need to get back in your car. I have a guide book that I will email on booking.

Yes, there is plenty of on-site parking available, so you can arrive, settle in and start your stay without any hassle.

As well as your own private patio, where you can sit and take in some of the finest views across the Peak District, you’ll also have access to Top Riley Meadow, our private twelve acres of fields and five acres of woodland.

Gentle paths invite you to wander, pause on a bench, or simply enjoy the quiet and watch the wildlife around you. To help you make the most of it, maps, picnic blankets and binoculars are all provided in the cottage for your use during your stay.

Head to the FAQ’s page for each of our properties where it will tell you what is provided. But for all properties there are plenty of toilet rolls, shampoo and conditioner, hand wash, towels, hairdryer, cooking oil, salt, pepper, clingfilm, tinfoil, tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

Yes, the historic village of Eyam is just a short walk away and has a lovely selection of places to enjoy during your stay. You’ll find three cafés to choose from, Affogato in the Courtyard, The Tea Rooms and The Village Green, all perfect for a relaxed coffee or light lunch.

For something more substantial, The Miners Arms offers a warm welcome and delicious meals, while The VeeCee is a lovely spot to enjoy a drink.

Eyam Courtyard is also home to Delightful Living, a delightful collection of three boutique stores, perfect for a gentle browse during your stay.

 
 

If you would like a food shop for your stay we highly recommend an online delivery as all supermarkets do deliver to us. In the village there is a small village store for your essentials or head to Calver Spa for a bit more choice.

No. Your time here is meant for rest, not chores.
We simply ask that the cottage is left tidy.

Each property has it’s own separate wifi and code, the details are sent out in a message a few days before arrival. The wifi is good for where we are in the beautiful Peak District.

We have a wonderful laundry facility next to the cottages. We have a great 14kg washing machine and next to it a tumble dryer. There are pegs and a peg basket for those wanting the fresh Peak District air to cleanse their cloths (head through the second door and there is plenty of washing line space). We provide the laundry detergent for you as well. 

At the moment we do not have an EV Charger. However a short drive to the Calver Arms at the Calver cross roads and you will find the most wonderful pub that serves exceptional food, and the best bit….it has several super fast EV chargers.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets apart from a dog at the Barn, as we strive to maintain a tranquil and relaxing environment for all our guests. However, if you’d like, we can recommend reputable nearby kennels so your pet can enjoy a comfortable stay while you unwind.

Yes. We live here at Top Riley and are always nearby if needed.

Eyam Museum

20 minute walk into the village, opposite the playing fields

Eyam Museum aims to open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 with last admission at 15:15. The museum closes at 16:00. It is advisable to pre book tickets on the website. The museum will give you a real insight into the history of Eyam and the details of the plague through detailed local accounts of how it spread, who died and who survived.
