As autumn moves towards its later weeks, stately homes and local landmarks begin to add their own seasonal charm, with festive displays, artisan markets and beautifully decorated spaces to discover. Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Thornbridge Hall each offer a wonderful day out, bringing a little extra magic to an autumn stay.

Enjoy a four night Christmas and New Year escape and celebrate the season in the heart of the Peak District. Arrive to a warm welcome with twinkling lights and a beautiful Christmas tree all ready for your stay.
Your stay includes a festive hamper (worth £50), filled with little luxuries to make your holiday even more special. Think homemade mince pies dusted with sugar, a rich Christmas pudding with brandy butter, local chutneys and crackers for fireside nibbles, spiced biscuits, chocolates, and festive teas.

Eyam Museum aims to open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 with last admission at 15:15. The museum closes at 16:00. It is advisable to pre book tickets on the website. The museum will give you a real insight into the history of Eyam and the details of the plague through detailed local accounts of how it spread, who died and who survived.
